President's Message
Dear Members of ASMP Central Florida,
A lot has happened since our last newsletter!
The biggest news for our chapter is that Ed McDonald, our chapter’s immediate past president, was elected to the national board. Ed is widely respected and well known to most of you. I especially admire his drive and leadership qualities, which were instrumental to the recent renaissance of our chapter. I’m sure he’ll apply those same qualities to guiding ASMP on a national level. Congratulations, Ed!
Sixteen of our members, including ten board members, attended ASMP’s SB2 in Atlanta. We were the largest contingent there from any chapter anywhere! Please read our individual reviews in our spring newsletter.
Our chapter also hosted the Digital Shoot Out at International Academy of Design & Technology (IADT) in Tampa. It was well-attended, and some photographers came from as far away as Jacksonville. We look forward to seeing you at future events.
I’m also happy to report that both the Constitution Changes Referendum and the Dues Increase Referendum passed by decisive margins.
All these are signs of vitality and growth in ASMP and welcome signs of spring.
